Preparation of all financial aspects of the company, including relevant statutory, regulatory and control requirements for both internal and external parties.
Record monthly reinsurance transactions.
Reconciliation and maintenance of control accounts.
Maintenance of internal management files.
Agree intercompany balances.
Preparation of the Management Accounts for Europe within agreed service levels.
Reconciliation of cashflows into various with-profit funds.
Liaise with actuarial on change in value splits, reserves, FFA and Divided Revenue Account (quarterly basis).
Completion of insurance new business surveys eg. AILO & IIF.
Preparation and submission of the company’s european performance results via Hyperion within agreed deadlines for IFRS, US GAAP and FSA at Half-year and Year-end in line with corporate reporting timetable.
Preparation of annual statutory accounts.
Liaising with Actuarial on monthly basis re various information requirements.
Interaction with other departments within the company in relation to all financial transactions, and these relationships must be developed and managed closely to ensure the controls are maintained.
Reconciliation of fund manager rebates.
Maintenance of procedural manual for areas of responsibility.
Assist in the implementation of new systems, products and processes within the Finance department.
Assist Internal Audit with any queries/issues that arise, in a prompt and efficient manner.
Ensure all information requirements from External Auditors are met, and all issues raised are dealt with in a timely manner.
Ability to identify quality and process improvements both within own area of responsibility and other areas of influence.
Native German speaker and fluency in English.
Knowledge of US GAAP.
Previous experience in reconciliations and Oracle an advantage.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft essential.
